HCL utilizes an Adaptive AON/CoCubes platform for the 2026 batch. The process is heavily focused on Computer Fundamentals and PseudoCode. High scorers in the initial rounds are automatically invited to the coding challenge for Momentum/Polaris upgrades.

Complete Exam Syllabus

1. Cognitive Assessment (Aptitude)

45 Qs | 45 Mins
  • Numerical: Percentages, Time & Work, HCF/LCM, Averages.
  • Logical: Puzzles, Data Sufficiency, Coding-Decoding.
  • Verbal: Sentence Correction, Reading Comprehension.
  • Strategy: This round is Adaptive (difficulty increases with correct answers).

2. Computer Fundamentals & PseudoCode

30 Qs | 30 Mins
  • PseudoCode: Identifying outputs of loops, bitwise logic.
  • CS Basics: OS (Process mgmt), DBMS (SQL joins), OOPS.
  • Networking: OSI Layers, TCP/IP, basic protocols.
  • Data Structures: Arrays, Linked Lists, Stacks, Queues.

3. English Versant / Voice Test

~20 Mins

Assesses fluency, listening, and pronunciation. Required for client-facing roles.

Strict Sectional Cutoff: HCL is known for strict cutoffs in Computer Fundamentals (often 70%+). Do not neglect the theoretical CS subjects.
